Johnny Chan a Senior?

Johnny 'The Love Doctor' Chan
Johnny 'The Love Doctor' Chan
Johnny Chan has just taken his seat in today's Seniors World Championship. Born in 1957, Chan is 51 years old and therefore eligible for this event.

His day started off quite interestingly as he arrived to his assigned table of Blue 41 to find someone sitting in his seat. The floor was called and apparently his chips were moved. Since then, he has been relocated to Blue 4 with Marsha Waggoner.

Judging from the photo, chances are they know each other!

Eskimo Takes A Hit

When his opponent moved all in on the turn for his last 700 chips on a board of {10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} Eskimo Clark made the call with {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. His opponent showed {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and would need some help.

The river brought the {Q-Clubs} to give his opponent the gutshot straight to send Eskimo back to 2,200.

Min-Raise Proving Popular

In watching today's action we've noticed that there is a lot of min-raising going on. The modern game tends to avoid the use of the min-raise but today's players are putting it to good use. It's probably an indicator that a lot of these players come from a limit background and are used to structure bets.

We spotted Brad Guttilla in an earlier event at this year’s WSOP as a look-alike for Chris “Jesus” Ferguson. Brad is back on the felt today and when asked about the comparison to Ferguson he commented “Well I’ve looked like this longer than he has!”
