Raymer Gets Some Breathing Room
On the first draw, Perry stood pat to Raymer's one card, then bet. Raymer called. The second draw came the same as the first: Perry was pat, Raymer took one and called after Perry bet.
On the third draw, both players stood pat. Sensing he was in trouble, Perry checked the action to Raymer, who bet. Perry called and saw the bad news: Raymer made an 8-6-5-3-2 to win the pot.
"I really needed that one," said Raymer with a sigh of relief. If he had lost the pot, he would have had less than 10,000 chips left. Instead, he currently has about 50,000.
