Phan Writes Own Plan
Phan drew one card, and his opponent took two. Phan bet and he called. On the second draw, Phan took one again and his opponent hesitated. "Take two again, don't be shy," said Phan. He drew one. Again Phan bet and was called.
On the third draw, Phan stood pat, and the LP player took one card. "Don't be checking!" he warned Phan. Phan checked nonetheless. After deliberating for a moment, his opponent checked behind.
Phan showed a 9-7-5-3-2, and the player across the table mucked, showing the king he'd picked up on the last draw. Phan is up to 33,500.
