Hand #29 - David Woo

David Woo
David Woo
Matt Wood has the button in Seat 7. David Woo raises to 150,000 from middle position. Action folds to Thom Werthmass in the small blind and he makes the call. Werthmass and Woo go heads up to the flop.

Werthmass checks dark and the flop comes {Q-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}. Woo takes his time before tossing out a bet of 50,000. Werthmass makes a quick call.

The turn comes the {5-Clubs}. Werthmass checks and Woo quickly bets 200,000. After about a minute or so, Werthmass calls.

The {J-Clubs} hits the river and Werthmass sits motionless. He eventually taps the felt and Woo bets 500,000. After about two minutes, Werthmann finally makes the call. Woo shows {Q-?} {Q-?} and Worthmann mucks. David Woo takes the pot and the chip lead on the and now commands a stack of 3,015,000.

One More Spot

As we mentioned yesterday, it seems that a few of these players are content to coast just one spot higher into the money. The simple written transcript of these hands may not illustrate that, but the looks on these players' faces when faced with a big decision says it all.

With the blind and antes where they are and multiple short stacks on the table, the temptation for these players to throw away that borderline hand and hopefully pick up an extra $30,000 or $40,000 in prize money may be becoming more and more tempting.

Mike Glasser Eliminated in Eighth Place ($85,394)

Hand #27 - Matt Wood

Mike Glasser has the button in Seat 4 and he moves all in for 305,000. Matt Wood makes the call from the big blind and the players show:

Glasser: {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}
Wood: {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs}

The flop comes {J-Spades} {7-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} leaving Glasser in the lead. The crowd is on its feet as the turn falls the {J-Diamonds}. The river is the {A-Diamonds} and Wood's aces are best.
