Jack on the River
With Channing open limping from early position with , a couple of other players limped in late only for the big blind to make it 2,400 more to play.
Channing, having limped to raise, decided to bump it up to 7,200. Folded round to the big blind, who, without too much deliberation, decided to push all in for a total of 10,000.
At this point, Channing's opponent revealed face up, not quite realizing that Channing was yet to call. However, after assessing the pot odds and his current relationship with the poker gods, Channing gave him a spin for the extra 2,800.
The flop was a harmless one...
as was the turn...
but on the river a special guest joined the party...
"I knew he had something," Channing later added. "I hoped he had A-K".
Channing now on 31,000.
