Matusow Takes 3/4 From Benyamine

David Chiu opened the action with a raise from the button before Mike Matusow reraised from the small blind. David Benyamine flat called from the big blind as did Chiu.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Matusow fired out from the small blind. Both opponents made the call.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and Matusow fired out his last 40,000. Benyamine called and Chiu deliberated before folding leaving himself with only 75,000 chips.

Matusow held {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Hearts} against Benyamine's {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

Matusow called for a picture card as the river landed the {8-Diamonds}. "That's ok!" said Matusow as he received 3/4 of the pot to bounce back a little to about 325,000 chips. Benyamine is down to 800,000.

We Aren't In Kansas Anymore Toto

David Chiu, David Benyamine, Jason Gray, and Toto Leonidas all limped in preflop. On a flop of {8-Clubs} {J-Spades} {10-Hearts}, Chiu checked to Benyamine and Benyamine bet. Gray called and Leonidas raised. Chiu folded and Gray and Benyamine called. On the turn of the {8-Diamonds}, it was checked to Leonidas, who bet. Only Gray called the bet. When the river card of the {A-Spades} hit, both players checked their hand. Leonidas showed {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {7-Spades} and Gray showed {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {4-Spades} {K-Spades} for kings up.

After the pot, Leonidas is down to 540,000 and Gray is up to 1,200,000 chips.

Matusow Gets Quartered

Ram Vaswani raised from early position and David Chiu, Mike Matusow and David Benyamine all made the call.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and the action checked to Matusow who fired out a bet. Benyamine raised on the button forcing Chiu and Vaswani out of the pot, with Matusow making the call.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and Matusow checked to Benyamine who bet again. Matusow made the call.

The river brought the {7-Clubs} and Matusow this time led with a bet which Benyamine quickly called.

Benyamine tabled {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for two pair and nut low. "Is that all? What a river!" exclaimed Matusow as he showed {J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the same low after flopping two pair.

Benyamine gets 3/4 of the pot leaving Matusow back on the short stack with about 175,000 chips.

Matusow Takes a Hit

Preflop, Mike Matusow raised from the button and Eugene Katchalov made the call. On the flop of {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {5-Spades} , both players checked. When the turn card of the {A-Spades} fell, Katchalov bet out and Matusow raised. Katchalov tanked for about 2 minutes before making the call. On the river card of the {9-Clubs}, Katchalov checked to Matusow and Matusow bet out. Katchalov made the call. Katchalov showed {10-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts} for tens full and Matusow mucked his cards in disgust.

After the hand, Matusow is down to 300,000 in chips.

Gray Starts Well After Dinner

Jason Gray raised it up from the button and Toto Leonidas made the call from the big blind. Gray bet on the flop, turn and river into Leonidas on a board of {4-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Leonidas cut out chips appearing to be about to raise but gave up his hand to give Gray a nice start following the dinner break.

During the hand Greg Jamison was a late arrival to his seat, arriving with a friendly, and rather hopeful "Did I win yet?" which drew a nice chuckle from the large group of fans which have gathered here to watch this final table on the rail.
