Shawn Buchanan Takes a Hit

Action folded around to Shawn Buchanan on the button and he raised to 700. Both blinds called and the three players took a flop of {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {9-Spades}. The small blind checked and the big blind pushed all in for 5,125. Buchanan made the call and the small blind passed. The players showed:

Buchanan: {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}

Buchanan needed runner runner that never came. After the hand, he slips to approximately 4,000 chips.

2,304

Looks like 2,304 is the official number of entrants for today's tournament. Not record-setting, but a massive field nonetheless.

Binger Busto

Michael Binger lost half his chips on a hand where he flopped middle pair, turned a straight draw, but his opponent rivered a set with his pocket fours. Binger was all in on the next hand, but his {A-?} {J-?} could not improve against his opponent's {K-?} {K-?} and he was eliminated.

Kenna James Doubles Up

Kenna James just doubled up when his {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} held up against the {Q-Spades} {J-Diamonds} of his opponent. The chips when in preflop and the board helped neither player. James doubled up to just over 7,600 chips.

Roland de Wolfe Takes a Hit

We caught up to this hand just before the flop. Roland de Wolfe called about half his chips before the flop and showed {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts} against the {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} of his opponent. Both players missed the board and de Wolfe is down to about 3,600 chips.

Eugene Todd Makes Quads

Eugene Todd just had most of his chips in the center trying to send another player home. Todd showed {10-Spades} {10-Hearts} which was ahead of the {K-Hearts} {9-Spades} of his opponent.

The flop came {J-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} giving Todd a set, but the {10-Clubs} on the turn sealed the deal. He is now well above average with just under 22,000 chips.
