Grinder Cops a Bad Beat; Selbst Moves On

Over the past ten minutes, Vanessa Selbst crawled her way back into the chip lead and has just dealt the final blow to heads up opponent Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, bad beat style.

On a flop of {Q-Spades} {3-Clubs} {6-Hearts}, Vanessa check-raised a bet from the Grinder and he made the call. When the {4-Spades} fell on the turn, Selbst open-shoved all in, putting Mizrachi to a decision for all of his chips. Holding {Q-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}, good for top pair and an open-ended straight draw, Mizrachi opted to make the call and was pleased to see he was well ahead of Selbst's {9-Hearts} {6-Spades}.

The prospect of a Mizrachi v. Mizrachi elite eight match-up crumbled, however, when the {9-Diamonds} popped off on the end, giving Selbst a match-winning two pair.
