A Bit of Clarification

We've just learned that the "surveillance delay" was in fact due to an auditing issue. Apparently during the race off, it was learned that the total value of chips put on the table didn't match the total value of chips taken off the table. After checking the surveillance video, it was discovered that Aaron Coulthard had received an additional T25,000 chip during the race off.

Tournament officials apologized for the mistake, and demonstrated to Coulthard how the mistake happened. He politely disagreed and asked to see the tape. Tournament officials informed him that would not be possible and he asked them to please check again. He was told that the footage would indeed be double-checked, but the chip in question was eventually taken out of play.

Play Resumes

Play has finally resumed with 51 players remaining. The average chip stack is approximately 230,000. Current chip leaders are:

Pia Jeppesen - 700,000
Aaron Coulthard - 660,000
Theo Tran - 596,500
Perry Friedman - 530,000
Ryan D'Angelo - 403,500

Technical Difficulties

Although the race-off has been long since completed, play is still yet to resume. We've been told that this is due to a "surveillance issue" and will be resolved momentarily.

Cho Rallies

Steve Cho and Edgar Renteria got all the chips in preflop. Cho showed {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds} ; Renteria had {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

"That's a made-for-TV flop," joked Cho.

A {5-Clubs} on the turn made a set for Cho. The river blanked and Cho increased his stack to about 250,000.

Here Comes Perry

Perry Friedman has been joking with our media table all night about various cross-booking and prop bets he has made this year. At one point, he told us, "If I make the next payout level, I'll actually lose $100."

No need to worry about that now. His {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} beat Scott Montgomery on a {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8?}{4-Diamonds}{A-Spades} to increase Friedman's stack to 508,000.

Ladies for the Last Lady

Look out, boys. Here she comes.

Pia Jeppesen is on a run. Just moments ago, she took down a big pot to become our chip leader. And now, she just picked up another huge hand. Looking down at {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, she got enough chips in the pot preflop to cover the all-in from Joe Gotlieb, holding {A-Spades}{K-Spades}.

One more lady visited her on the flop, as it came {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Gotlieb was left drawing to runner-runner, and the {7-Diamonds} on the turn put him away. A meaningless {6-Spades} came on the river, and Gotlieb is eliminated.

Jeppesen, meanwhile has jumped to 695,000.

Hear Me Roar!

From the button, Anthony Young puts the pressure on with a raise to 24,000. Scott Einiger makes the call from the small blind. Pia Jeppesen makes her move and pushes all in for 220,000. Young makes the call, and Einiger folds. The two remaining players turn up their hands:

Anthony Young: {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Pia Jeppesen: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The board rags off entirely, coming {5?}{5?}{6?}{8?}{9?}, and Jeppesen rakes in a monster pot. Her new stack of 530,000 puts her squarely atop the leader board.
