We Have Our 9th-Place Finisher

$23,423 for 9th
$23,423 for 9th
Jimmy Shultz raises to 24,000 from early postion before Chung Law re-raises to 36,000 from the very next seat. It's folded back around to Shultz who puts Law all-in after seeing he only has around 20,000 back. Law makes the automatic call holding {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} but is in bad shape against Shultz's {J-Spades} {J-Hearts}.

All the way to the river on this one...

{8-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts}

Law had a lot of outs by the turn but the river blanked sending even more chips Shultz's way. Law is the first player to be eliminated at this final table.

Shultz getting close to 900,000 chips now.

Vinh Gets Some Back From Shultz

Jimmy Shultz made a preflop raise from middle position and the table folded around to Vinny Vinh in the big blind.

As the flop came {6-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}, Vinh checked and Shultz fired a continuation bet. Vinh then made his move and raised, making it 24,000.

After a Shultz call, the turn brought the {4-Hearts}. Vinh led out and Shultz mucked, much to the chagrin of his cheering section, which is led by his brother Jeremy.

Vinh was able to get 48,000 off of Shultz.

Welcome to the Vinny Vinh Show

Vinny Vinh has just won back-to-back pots to put him back in contention at our final table. The first hand he called a button raise fom Zac Fellows in the small blind and then bet every street. Fellows called him down but mucked when he saw Vinh's {J-?} {J-?}.

The very next hand, Vinh made a button raise himself and found Markus Golser calling from the big blind. The flop came...

{3-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {6-Hearts} Golser checked to Vinh who bet 12,000 before raising it to 24,000. Vinh made the call before we saw the turn...

{7-Diamonds} Golser checked once more and then called a 24,000 bet from Vinh before the river came...

{4-Hearts} Golser led out this time for 24,000. Vinh shook his head and fiddled with his chips before making a reluctant call. Golser mucked his hand before either hand was exposed. Vinh tables {A-Hearts} {4-Spades} {4-Spades} and welcomes the plaudits from his table mates.

Vinh has rocketed up to 290,000 now.

15 Minute Break

We lost Erick Lindgren just as the level came to an end. Players are now on a fifteen minute break before the final table of nine will play to a winner.

Lindgren Busted

Erick Lindgren put up the 10,000 for the big blind and had only 7,000 remaining so when Markus Golser raised his call was instant. Lindgren turned {J-Spades} {8-Clubs} and Golser {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}.

The flop cam {4-Clubs} {6-Spades} {7-Hearts} giving Lindgren a gut shot straight draw.

The turn yielded the {9-Hearts} improving the gut shot draw to an open ended draw.

However, the river failed to devliver when the {Q-Hearts} fell and Lindgren was sent home one spot shy of the final table.

Vinny v Jimmy

Vinny Vinh raises to 20,000 from mid-position and Jimmy Shultz makes the call from the big blind before the flop comes down...

{A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} Shultz is first to act and leads out for 10,000 that Vinh calls before the turn comes...

{10-Clubs} Shultz leads out once more and once more Vinh calls before the river comes...

{5-Clubs}. The four clubs on board cause both players to check it down and a very unlucky Vinh loses with {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} to Shultz's {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}!!

This seems to have tilited Vinh as he's become very animated with plenty of trash talk. Will he completely capitulate and lose his remaining 100,000 chips?

Taylor Take Care of Henderson

Brendan Taylor flipped pocket jacks to beat Zachary Henderson's {K-?} {Q-?} after the board read {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}.

We are now re-drawing for seats at the last table table. This "Final table" will be when there are nine players left.

Shkolnik Crippled Then Bust

Steve Shkolnik
Steve Shkolnik
Steve Shkolnik raises it to 20,000 from early position and only finds a caller from chip leader, Jimmy Shultz, in the big blind. The flop comes...

{7-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} Shultz leads out for 10,000 and Shkolnik calls so we head to the turn...

{8-Spades} Shultz bets 20,000 this time and Shkolinik calls once more before the river...

{3-Spades} Shultz bets a final 20,000 and Shkolnik calls once more but mucks when he sees Shultz's {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}.

The very next hand Shkolnik had most of his stack committed in the big blind so had no choice but to move the rest in. His {6-?} {4-?} was no match for Eric Lingren's {10-?} {10-?}. He leaves us in 12th place.
