Jeff Banghart and Hoa Nguyen Tangle

Hoa Nguyen
Hoa Nguyen
Action folded around to Hoa Nguyen on the button who raised to 150,000. Jeff Banghart called the raise from the big blind. It was heads-up to the flop of...

{A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Both players checked. The turn came the {10-Hearts}. Banghart led out for 250,000 and Nguyen quickly called. The river brought the {Q-Clubs}. Banghart bet again, 300,000 this time. Nguyen called. Banghart showed {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the straight and Nguyen mucked. After this pot Banghart sits on 2,150,000 in chips while Nguyen slips to 1,900,000.

Avi Cohen Makes a Bold Bluff; David Tran Looks Him Up

Avi Cohen
Avi Cohen
In a hand that saw zero action on the flop and turn, sparks were flying on the river as Avi Cohen attempted to take the pot away from David Tran with a bluff.

The board read {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Cohen checked to Tran who fired out a 350,000 bet. When the action got back around to Cohen, he announced "raise," and proceeded to up the ante to 1,900,000!

The monster raise sent Tran into the tank for a moment, but he eventually made the call. Cohen revealed {A-Spades}{4-Spades} for nothing but ace high, and Tran showed {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} for an ace-high flush.

For those wondering why Tran did not reraise Cohen on the river, Tran explained, "He could've had a straight flush."

After the hand, Cohen dropped to 2,200,000 in chips, while Tran improved to 5,800,000.

Ronald Kluber is on the Move

Ronald Kluber, David Tran, and Philip Hilm saw a flop of {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. All three players checked the flop. The {K-Clubs} came off on the turn. Kluber bet 200K and David Tran raised to 550,000. Hilm passed and it was back to Kluber. He moved all in for 1,950,000 more. Tran thought for a bit, but eventually gave it up. Kluber took down the pot and, just like Tran, is now at 3,600,000 in chips.

The Chip Stacks of the Chip Leaders

Ray Henson's chips (left) have the quantitative advantage over Scott Freeman's chips (right), but Freeman's chips have position
Ray Henson's chips (left) have the quantitative advantage over Scott Freeman's chips (right), but Freeman's chips have position
Ray Henson (first in chips with about 8.5 million) and Scott Freeman (third in chips with about 6.5 million) are seated right next to each other at Table #2.

In this photo (taken during the break), Henson's chips are on the left (seat 3) and Freeman's chips are on the right (seat 4). A lot of Henson's higher-denomination chips (25,000) are difficult to see from this angle, but trust us, they're there.

With a little over 127,000,000 in play, these two players control about 11.8 percent of all the chips in the tournament.

Jeff Banghart Stays Active

Jeff Banghart
Jeff Banghart
Maria Ho raised to 150,000 from under the gun. Lee Childs called from middle position as did Jeff Banghart from the big blind. It was three players to the flop...

{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

All three players checked. The {6-Clubs} peeled off on the turn. Banghart bet 250,000 and both Ho and Childs passed. Banghard took down the pot and is at 1,100,000 in chips.

Alaei Doubles Up, Hitting a Miracle Deuce on the River

Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei had his back against the ropes holding {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts} against Stefan Mattsson's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. Alaei had moved all in before the flop for his last 945,000 and Mattsson made the call.

The board filled out {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, giving Alaei four additional outs to a straight by the turn, but it was the deuce he paired on the river that kept him alive.

Alaei stacked up just over two million in chips after the hand, while Mattsson dropped to 3,300,000.
