Tim Begley Eliminated

Tim Begley just headed to the rail when he was all in preflop holding {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} against the more powerful {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} of Andrew Gunderson. Gunderson caught the {Q-Hearts} on the flop to increase his dominance. Begley failed to catch the running cards neccessary to stay alive. Gunderson is now working with 430,000 in chips.

Neil "Bad Beat" Channing Eliminated

Kirk Morrison put in standard raise from the button and Jeff Bryan reraised to 150,000 from the small blind. Neil Channing, who was in the big blind, peeked at his hole cards and then declared: "All in." Morrison passed, but Bryan insta-called. The players showed...

Channing: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and just like that, Channing was eliminated. Jeff Bryan is up to 1,450,000 chips after the hand.

Nicolas Atlan Eliminates Thor Hansen

Thor Hansen
Thor Hansen
Atlan made it 45,000 to go before the flop from middle position and Hansen moved all in for his last 245,000. Atlan made the call and had Thor drawing slim when he revealed pocket aces; Hansen showed {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The situation got worse for Hansen on the flop, as the case ace gave Nicolas top set. Hansen's only hope for survival was the possibility of a runner-runner straight, which failed to materialize as the turn and river brought the {8-Clubs} and {5-Diamonds}.

Atlan's chip count after the hand stood right around 1,400,000.

Bryan Swanson Eliminated

Bryan Swanson's Main Event dreams were just dashed when he lost two big hands in a row.

In the first hand, Swanson had a majority of his chips in the pot holding {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} against the {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} of Jason Welch. Swanson's hand failed to improve and he was left with a mere 102,000 in chips. Welch climbed to 555,000 on the hand.

A few hands later, he was all in. Swanston took his {K-Spades}{9-Spades} up against the {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} of Christian Togsverd. The {Q-Hearts} on the flop was all Togsverd would need to send Swanson to the rail. Togsverd is now very much in the mix with 1,500,000 in chips.

Hansen and Watkinson Butt Heads

Lee Watkinson
Lee Watkinson
Gus Hansen and Lee Watkinson just went at it for the first time since Gus was moved from the feature table to Lee's table, just under an hour ago.

Preflop, Gus made it 52,000 to go from the cutoff and Lee made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts} and both players knuckled the table, opting for a free turn. The next card off the deck was the {3-Clubs}. At this point, Lee attempted to take control of the hand, leading out with a 75,000 bet; Gus made the call.

The {J-Clubs} fell on the river and Lee quickly fired out a 150,000 bet. "Mighty big bet," Gus said, as he considered his decision. A solid minute passed, as Gus rapidly tapped his foot on the ground, while stacking and restacking his chips. Every few seconds he glanced over at Lee in search of more information, but Lee didn't budge. Gus eventually made the call and Lee turned over {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for top two pair. Gus appeared stunned and held on to his cards for a few seconds before handing them over to the dealer.

Watkinson improved to 1,570,000 on the hand, while Gus dropped to 900,000.
