348 Players Remain

Tournament staff have told us that the hand-for-hand process will begin when we have around 330 players left. Now that the tables are nine-handed, that means there will be at least 37 tables to coordinate -- which may take awhile.

Nearing Hand-for-Hand Play

The tournament director has just asked all spectators to exit the tournament area as we approach the money, so that the tournament staff can keep track of the order in which players are eliminated.

Kevin O'Donnell Out

Kevin raised to 3,500 preflop, about half of his chips, from early position and was called by Shaun Deeb on the button. Kevin checked the {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop and Shaun moved all in. Kevin reluctantly called and Shaun said, "Good call, you have the best hand." Kevin said he was sure he didn't and rolled over {10-Spades}{K-Spades}. Shaun tabled {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and the turn {4-Hearts} and river{8-Spades} saw him eliminate Kevin with ace high.

Mueller Makes a Tough Call

Greg "FBT" Mueller

Greg Mueller went into the tank after an opponent moved all in on a flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{K-Spades}. "I think you've got spades here sir. . . I like to go with my instincts. It would really suck if I'm wrong, though," Mueller said, as he considered his decision.

After a considerable amount of time had passed, Mueller made the call with pocket tens and sure enough, his opponent showed {5-Spades}{3-Spades}.

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn gave Mueller's opponent some additional outs, but the {Q-Clubs} fell on the river, giving Mueller the checkmark for the hand.

After the hand, Mueller stacked up approximately 65,000 chips.

Jason Dousharm Enters the Fray

Facing a called all-in of 10,000 Jason pushed from the small blind for 45,000. The player who had called the initial all-in called off his last 15,000 and the cards were tabled. Player 1 had K-10, Player 2 had pocket eights and Jason had A-K. Jason hit an ace and a king on the flop and eliminated two players. Jason has moved up the leader board and has over 70,000 now.

Eugene Todd Eliminated

Eugene Todd moved all in holding {A-Spades}{4-Spades} on a flop of {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}; he was called by an opponent who showed {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

The turn brought the {6-Diamonds}, meaning Todd would stay alive if the river was any non-club five or higher; unfortunately for Todd, the river card was the {8-Clubs} and Todd was eliminated from the tournament.
