Patience Pays for Ferguson

It took awhile, but Chris Ferguson finally got the hand he was looking for. From middle position, Ferguson put in a raise and the lone caller was the big blind.

The flop came {10-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and the big blind passed to Ferguson who led out with a bet. The big blind then check-raised, prompting Ferguson to three-bet the pot, which put his opponent all-in. The big blind made the call and turned over {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for bottom pair; Ferguson showed {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs}, giving the big blind an open-ended straight draw, but the {2-Spades} on the river ended his hopes of outdrawing Chris.

The hand brought "Jesus" up to 18,000 on the day.
