Mitch Maxey's Wish, Part 2

Some of you may have read yesterday's post about 17-year old Mitch Maxey. Diagnosed with terminal cancer and with only a few months to live, he asked his father to grant him two wishes: 1) to meet the world's top golfers at last April's Masters and 2) to meet some of the world's greatest poker players. His father, Dale Maxey, made both of these wishes come true for his son.

Part two of this story begins after Mitch's special poker tournament with 10 top pros that was held during the dinner break last night. After the game, Mitch's father arranged for him to sit behind one of poker's superstars during the seven card stud hi-lo championship -- five time bracelet winner Phil Ivey.

After sitting behind him for only a few hands, Ivey scooped a pot with a set of eights and a 7-5 low. Ivey smiled and turned to Mitch's dad and said "Your son is pretty lucky -- do you mind if I borrow him for the craps table next?" All observing the scene busted up laughing and it brought another smile to Mitch's face.

WSOP Media Director Nolan Dalla was on the scene and asked all the players at Ivey's table to sign autographs for Mitch.

Hats off to Mitch's father Dale Maxey who made his son's wish come true!
