Three Way All In; Howard Eliminated, O'Connor Scoops Huge Pot

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Michael Howard
Michael Howard

Matthew Eardley open raised from the hijack and Michael Howard moved all in for around 500,000 chips. Jamie O'Connor flat called the shove and Eardley moved all in for around 1.5 million. O'Connor called and three players flipped over their cards for a showdown that was about to make one player close to chip leader.

Michael Howard: {a-}{10-}
Matthew Eardley: {a-}{k-}
Jamie 'Connor: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The board came {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. O'Connor's aces held for an absolutely game-changing pot. That brought O'Connor up to around 3.5 million and gave him a huge stack, second in chips, just moments before Day 2 wound down to a close.

The next hand, Matthew Eardley, who had been decimated by the three-way all in, reshoved the button's raise from the small blind and got called. He had {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} but his opponent was holding pocket tens and held up. Eardley was eliminated in 17th place.
