Yao Cracks Straight With Full House; Meli Eliminated
Bixi Yao raised to 3,200 from middle position and picked up calls from three players.
The flop came and action checked to Yao, who made it 4,000 to go. Paul Grummitt called, as did Vincent Meli. The turn was the and all three players checked.
The river was the and Meli shoved all in for his remaining 24,000. Yao asked for a count and then used a time bank. She then made the call. Grummitt folded his hand to leave two players to show their cards.
Meli showed for the straight, a hand which looked to be unbeatable, until Yoa flipped over for a full house. She scooped the pot and Meli made a hasty exit from the table.
"Ahh, the tactical time bank", said another player at the table to Yoa, clocking that she had made a bit of a Hollywood play to try to entice Grummitt to put more chips in the middle. It may not have worked, but Yoa still took a decent pot.
