Rodriguez Takes Massive Pot with Straight Over Straight

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Noel Rodriguez
Noel Rodriguez

Jesse Lonis opened to 6,500 under the gun, Noel Rodriguez called from the cutoff, and Dapo Ajayi called in the big blind.

All three players checked the {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. Ajayi checked the {j-Spades} turn, Lonis bet 12,000, Rodriguez raised to 43,000, Ajayi folded, and Lonis called.

The river brought the {9-Hearts}, Lonis checked and Rodriguez went all in for 92,500.

Lonis went deep into the tank, and after several moments decided on a call. Both players turned over a straight, but it was Rodriguez' {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} getting the best of Lonis' {8-Spades}{7-Spades}.

The pot put Rodriguez in the mix near the top of the leaderboard.

Ajayi Eliminates Welch

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Dapo Ajayi
Dapo Ajayi

Dapo Ajayi took the tournament chip lead after bringing in a massive pot against Matt Welch.

Ajayi, on the button, and Welch, in the big blind, got all of the chips in on the {5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, with Ajayi having Welch covered.

Matt Welch: {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Dapo Ajayi: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Both players had plenty of equity when the chips went in, with Welch taking the lead on the {6-Hearts} turn. Welch's flush was rendered no good on the {6-Spades} river, however, as that card brought in a full house for Ajayi, and sent Welch to the exit.

Ajayi Gets One From Lonis

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With the flop showing {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Dapo Ajayi bet 6,000 from the small blind, and Jesse Lonis called from the big blind.

Ajayi bet 20,000 on the turn {6-Hearts}, and Lonis once again called.

Ajayi checked the {q-Clubs} river, Lonis bet 37,000, and Ajayi thought it over for a few moments before making the call.

Lonis immediately mucked, not showing his hand, and Ajayi flashed {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds} as he collected the pot.

Lonis' Jacks are Good

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Dapo Ajayi opened to 6,500 from the hijack, and got calls from Jesse Lonis in the cutoff, and Noel Rodriguez in the big blind.

Action checked to Ajayi on the {5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop, Ajayi bet 10,000 and only Lonis called.

Both players then checked through the {7-Clubs} turn and {a-Spades} river, and Lonis showed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} to take down the pot.

Bailey Doubles Through Azevedo

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

With more than 80,000 already in the middle, Roger Bailey went all in from the big blind, putting his last 43,500 in the pot from the big blind with the board showing {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Frank Azevedo went deep into the tank, contemplating a call from middle position. Clock was called on Azevedo, but no countdown was needed as Azevedo made the call as soon as the floor started walking over.

Azevedo saw the bad news, however, when Bailey turned over {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for two pair, getting the best of Azevedo's {a-Diamonds}{a-}.
