Kelsall Continues to Climb

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante
AJ Kelsall
AJ Kelsall

Paul Murphy opened to 2,400 from the cutoff, AJ Kelsall called on the button and a player in the big blind defended. The dealer fanned out {k-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} on the flop and action checked to Kelsall who bet 3,900.

Only the big blind opponent called to see the {10-Clubs} turn and both players then checked to the {3-Diamonds} river card. The big blind player bet 8,000 and Kelsall snap-called.

The big blind player tabled {q-Spades}{4-Spades} for a missed flush and Kelsall showed {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a pair of kings which was more than enough to take down the pot.

Cristos Gets Straight Value

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

Jordan Cristos and his opponent went to the river with a decent pot in the middle already of about 20,000.

The river was dealt to complete the board to read {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Cristos was first to act and thought for a while before tossing out a bet of 15,000. His opponent called pretty quickly and Cristos showed the {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for the straight and collected the nice pot.

Murphy Lands a Turn to Send Two Out the Door

Level 7 : 300/500, 500 ante

A player opened to 1,300 from middle position, Paul Murphy, AJ Kelsall, and Allen Kessler all called. Ian Steinman jammed 19,600 from the big blind and the initial raiser called.

Murphy was the only other person to stick around and see the {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop. The initial raiser bet 25,000 and Murphy moved his 64,200 stack into the middle with ease, his opponent called for less and the three tabled their hands.

Ian Steinman: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Paul Murphy: {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The {5-Hearts} instantly fell on the turn, giving Murphy a straight and the {5-Clubs} river sealed the deal as he scooped the pot, sending both of his opponents to the rail.
