Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Keith Heine
Keith Heine

Ed Rohloff checked a {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} board over to Keith Heine in the hijack, and Heine bet 2,500 into the pot of 4,700. Rohloff called.

Rohloff check-called a bet of 6,600 from Heine on the {2-Hearts} river, and Heine flipped over {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trip tens.

"Nice hand," Rohloff told Heine before mucking.

"Farmboy" Rights the Ship With a Double

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

John "Farmboy" Kurfman was down to his last 4,900 on the button, and with the {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades} board on the felt, he committed those last chips against a player in the small blind.

"I'm running real bad; ace-king or queen-jack?" Kurfman asked the small blind.

John Kurfman: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Kurfman was ahead at the moment, but his opponent could knock Kurfman out with a king or heart. The {5-Diamonds} river was safe for Kurfman, and he said, "I held!" before raking in the pot.

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Rob Wazwaz
Rob Wazwaz

Igor Hot checked a {6-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop from the small blind, and James Burns checked in the big blind. Rob Wazwaz bet 1,500 into a pot of 3,400 from the hijack, and both Hot and Burns called.

All three players checked the {k-Diamonds} turn, and Hot checked the {3-Hearts} river. Burns bet 5,000, Wazwaz called, and Hot folded.

Burns tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a Broadway straight, but Wazwaz rivered the flush with his {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} to take down the pot.

Jorden Helstern Uses "Mamba Mentality" to Capture First Gold Ring

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Jorden Helstern

PokerNews is in town to report the $1,700 Main Event here at the World Series of Poker Circuit at Milwaukee’s Potawatomi Hotel and Casino, but that is just one of the gold ring events that will have played out by the end of the series.

Event #4: $400 NLH Turbo attracted 257 runners and offered up a $84,810 prize pool to the top 39 spots. Among those to cash were Craig Trost (3rd - $8,425), Brett Reichard (4th - $6,148), Eddie Blumenthal (5th - $4,570), Andrew Robinson (6th - $3,460), Adam Goldberg (17th - $985), and Steve Buell (26th - $697).

In the end, Chicago’s Jorden Helstern beat Robert Wendt in heads-up play to win the tournament for $19,019 and his first gold ring.

The heads-up battle was over quickly, after Helstern raised holding big slick and Robert Brandt three-bet jammed with an inferior ace. Helstern snap-called and held on to claim victory.

“It feels really good to get the ring and close one out,” Helstern said after his victory. “I was saying 'Kobe' the whole time at the final table, and I went in with the Mamba Mentality – If you’re not winning, you’re losing.”
