Merson Quickly Spins Up a Stack

Level 7 : 300/500, 500 ante
Greg Merson
Greg Merson

It was just moments after Greg Merson took his seat on Day 1b that he had already nearly doubled his starting stack. His early heater wasn't over yet when four players saw a flop for 1,000 apiece. The flop came {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} and the action checked to the preflop raiser who bet 2,000 and only Merson called from the cutoff.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Merson was faced with another bet of 3,500 which he called again. The {9-Spades} double-paired the board on the river and the action was checked to Merson this time. He tossed in a bet of 6,000 and his opponent looked him up. Merson flipped over {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the best full house to claim another pot.
