Nichols Gets There on the River

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

Three players headed to the flop with around 4,000 in the middle and the dealer fanned the flop of {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}. Steven Nichols led out for 2,500 in the small blind and Robert Pardo called in middle position.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Nichols tossed in another bet of 4,500 which Pardo called. The {q-Diamonds} on the river put four cards to a straight on the board and Nichols fired out another 7,000. Pardo thought for a moment before flicking in a call. Nichols tabled {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a rivered straight while Pardo could only muster two pair with {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.
