Up and Down Day for Gates

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

The last we saw from Garry Gates, he ran a flush into a bigger flush but he had since chipped up from that point. However, after a limp from early position, Gates made it 800 to go in the hijack. Andrew Hills called in the cutoff as did Lucas Smith on the button.

The flop came {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Gates led out for 1,500. Hills quickly folded but Smith made it 4,000 which Gates called. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and Gates check-called another bet of 7,000 from Smith.

The {j-Hearts} landed on the river and Gates checked once more. Smith splashed in a bet of 15,000 and Gates felt there was something fishy going on.

"You have kings?" Smith kind of questioned.

"Do you want me to have kings?" Gates muttered back.

After some more small talk between the two players, Gates let his hand go and Smith flashed {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} which was confirmed to be the best hand.
