Sarmiento Makes River Call For Big Double

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

On the last hand before break, Steven Sarmiento raised from the button and got a call from Neal Corcoran in the small blind and Nick Yunis out of the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. Action checked around among the three players. The turn was the {2-Spades}. Yunis overbet 500,000, Sarmiento called and Corcoran got out of the way.

The river came the {q-Spades}. Yunis led out with an overbet shove which put the remaining 1,425,000 of Sarmiento to the ultimate test. The other players at the table had already left the table for break and all the pressure was on Sarmiento. He thought for quite a while assessing the situation. After about two minutes he dropped a stack of chips in the middle for the call.

Yunis turned over the {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Sarmiento revealed the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for the winning hand to take a big chunk from Yunis.
