Silver Picks Off Carey

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up on the river and was later recounted to PokerNews after the hand.

Under the gun Jose Silver raised to 700, Irene Carey three-bet to 1,700 from the next spot in early position. It folded around to Silver who called.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}. Carey continued for a bet of 1,500 which Silver raised to 3,500 and Carey called. The turn was the {6-Clubs}. Silver led out with a bet of 2,000, Carey raised to 5,500 and Silver called.

The river made three to a flush and paired the board as the {5-Spades} rolled off. Silver checked and Carey thought for a few moments, counted out her stack before firing a bet of 8,300 into a pot that had accumulated to north of 20,000. Silver waited about five seconds before calling.

Carey immediately flipped over the {k-}{j-Diamonds} for nothing and Silver showed his hand, the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} to take in the large pot.
