Day 1a of the WSOP Circuit Planet Hollywood $1,700 Main Event Begins at Noon
The centerpiece event of the World Series of Poker Circuit Planet Hollywood tournament series has arrived! The $1,700 Main Event kicks off today at noon from Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, with the first of two Day 1 flights.
Day 1a takes place today, with Day 1b being played Saturday. Both Day 1 flights are structured with 40-minute levels, 30,000 starting stacks, one re-entry per player per flight, and late registration available up through the beginning of Level 13.
The blinds will start at 100/100 for Level 1, with a big blind ante kicking in on Level 2. Level 15, if Day 1a gets that far, will feature blinds/ante of 1500/3000/3000.
The field will take 15-minute breaks after every three levels, and a 60-minute dinner break following Level 9. Both Day 1 flights will play through 15 levels, until 12 percent of the field remains, whichever comes first.
On the line is a piece of the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, as well as a WSOP Circuit ring and a seat in the 2019 WSOP Global Championship to the eventual winner.
The 2018 edition of this event drew 518 entries and a $784,770 prize pool, which is guaranteed to be exceeded in this tournament. Travis Dorsey is the defending champion in this event, and Dorsey took home a grand prize of $168,722 for his win in November 2018.
The survivors of Day 1a and Day 1b will come back as a combined field Sunday for Day 2, and the tournament will play down to a champion on Day 3, on Monday, November 26.
