An "Shamoo" Huang Leads Headed into Final Day of Horseshoe Baltimore High Roller
The first of two days has now come to an end in Event #12: $3,250 High Roller after 12 exciting levels of play. A total of 22 entries slips were sold thus far, and of those to begin only six remain as the tournament heads into the final day.
Leading the way by night's end is An "Shamoo" Huang who accumulated a hefty 317,500 during Day 1. Huang is relatively new to tournament play but already seems poised and calm during every decision.
"Shamoo" started the day off exactly how he ended it, with a big pot to eliminate someone. The second one being one of the biggest pots of the night when Nitis Udornpim flopped top two , only to see Huang catch a set of ladies on the river where he moved all in and Udornpim called.
Coming into the final day in second place is Jonathan Gilliam with 224,000. Gilliam started the day off with a bang and quickly became the first player to jump over the six-figure chip stack mark. The Rosedale, MD native stayed the course that led him into a big stack early in the day, all the way until the end of Day 1, finding few hiccups along the way.
The other remaining players to find a bag are Matt Stabia (154,000), WSOP bracelet winner Justin Liberto (94,500), Ryan Van Sanford (55,500), and Lara Eisenberg (34,500).
The final day action will start at 2 p.m. local time with the blinds of 1,000/2,000 and a 2,000 big blind ante. Late registration is still open until play starts and anyone willing to fork up the buy-in can jump. There will be a 15-minute break after every three levels of play and the tournament will not end until a winner is crowned.
