Uselis Gets There on the River

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a flop of {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and roughly 5,000 in the middle, Gediminas Uselis check-called a bet of 2,000 from his opponent.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and Uselis check-called once again, this time for 4,800.

The {2-Clubs} landed on the river and Uselis checked once again, and after two seconds his opponent checked back. Uselis tabled {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a rivered flush and his opponent mucked.

Van Blarcum Catches River

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The under-the-gun player opened for 2,700 and found three callers that included Aaron Van Blarcum from middle position along with Jason Daly from the big blind.

The {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop was checked to Van Blarcum who fired out 4,800 and was called by the initial raiser.

The turn came the {3-Diamonds} and Van Blarcum's opponent checked called his 11,500 bet to see the {5-Hearts} river complete the board.

Both players checked and Van Blarcum tabled {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to scoop the pot.

Hendrix Kings Hold to Double

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

All of the chips got in the middle preflop and Adam Hendrix was at risk for his 23,200 against Gediminas Uselis and both hands were tabled.

Gediminas Uselis: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Adam Hendrix: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Hendrix Kings were in the lead and he managed to fade an ace on the {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop and the {5-Spades} on the turn changed nothing. The {j-Spades} landed on the river improving Uselis to a pair of jacks but it was no good against Hendrix's pair of kings.

Guerrero Makes Great River Call to Eliminate Opponent

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

There was heads up action between the under-the-gun player and Carlos Guerrero on a {5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} completed board.

Guerrero checked his option to his opponent who moved all in for 26,400.

With around 40,000 already in the middle, Guerrero called and both players tabled their hands.

Opponent: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Carlos Guerrero: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Guerrero held bottom pair on the board but it was good enough to rake in the pot and eliminate his opponent.

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

With roughly 14,000 in the pot already on a {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board, Chuck Barker checked to Steve Karp who bet out 12,000. Barker took a few moments before making the call.

Ben-Shushan Wins Massive Three-Way All-In Preflop

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

All of the chips had gotten in the middle preflop with Megan Moore and Asaf Ben-Shushan both being at risk against Jake Bazeley.

Megan Moore: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Jake Bazeley: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Asaf Ben-Shushan: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Ben-Shushan's pocket kings were in the lead against both opponents, and the board ran out {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for the kings to hold against both players, eliminating Moore from the tournament and doubling through Bazeley.

While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Main Event and High Roller, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Choctaw Durant.

In Event #4: $600 PLO, 154 runners created a $79,310 prize pool that was paid out to the top 25 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Michael Perrone (11th - $1,375), Louis Barlow (14th - $1,168), Jacob Seale (16th - $1,020), Michael Le (18th - $1,020), and Lauren Bunch (24th - $425).

After placing seventh in this exact event last year, Matt Laessig rose to the occasion and claimed his first ring along with $20,773.

“Came here last year. Did my first Circuit event here last year. Had a blast,” mentioned Laessig. “Final tabled the PLO… Got busted seventh. Couple bad hands in a row and for the last year, I’ve been replaying it in my head.”

Laessig carved out his trip to Choctaw Durant and conquered. Going out a winner, he plans to return to his family and work in Austin, Texas on Monday
