Chan Catches a Big Bluff

Ian Chan was in the process of having his table breaking and caught up about a hand that has vaulted him up to 155,000 in chips. According to him, he opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and was three-bet to 8,000 by the big blind. Effective stacks were around 85,000 and Chan called.

The flop came rainbow and the big blind made a continuation-bet of 8,000. Chan called and the turn came . The big blind continued, betting another 15,000. Chan peeled again, bringing the river .

With no flush draws on board of any kind, the big blind emptied the clip, betting 25,000 and leaving himself 20,000 behind. Chan looked him up and the hand went to showdown.

The big blind tabled suited for two pair, sevens and threes. Chan showed offsuit for nines up and took down the six-figure pot.
