Wong Loses Flip To Bust; Chip Counts from Table 42

Level 9 : 400/800, 800 ante

Eric Wong had found himself down to about 18000 and shoved it in from middle position. Action folded around to Lee Markholt, who was in the cutoff and announced a call. The remaining players got out of their way and the two were off to the races.

Eric Wong: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Lee Markholt: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to give Wong a commanding lead, priming him for a double in the meantime. The turn {k-Diamonds} gave him top two pair but gave Markholt four more outs to Broadway. The river {j-Spades} would fill up Markholt, leaving Wong's two pair to be second best as he got up from his seat and exited the tournament area.
