The second and final flight of the 2019 World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Southern Indiana $1,700 Main Event kicks off at 11 a.m. local time, and Day 1b hopefuls will be attempting to join the 30 players who made it through yesterday's Day 1a flight.

Robert James managed to bag up an impressive 414,500 in chips to lead the way, while Alexander Fininzio (364,500) and Richard Langdon (296,000) also bagged big stacks. The trio is joined in part by WSOP Bracelet winners Kyle Cartwright (180,000) and Alan Percal (172,000), and WSOPC Ameristar St. Charles Casino Champ Jerod Smith (106,500).

Day 1b is set to kick off at 11 a.m. local time, and features fifteen forty-minute levels. Blinds start off at 100/100 for the Main Event, and players begin with 30,000 in tournament chips, with big blind ante kicking in at Level 2. Players will receive a fifteen-minute break after Levels 3, 6 and 12 and a sixty-minute dinner break after Level 9. Registration will remain open through the beginning of Level 13 (approximately 8:45 p.m. local time), and a single re-entry is available to players.

James Pupillo, who finished fourth at the WSOPC Potawatomi $1,700 Main Event two weeks ago for a career-best $46,017, was spotted in action last night and will likely be in attendance today. We also expect Nick Pupillo, Ravi Raghavan, Alan Cutler and many more to join the crowd today and make one more attempt at advancing to Day 2.

Follow along with PokerNews as Day 1b action gets underway here in Elizabeth, Indiana, as we continue the journey to crown the latest WSOPC Main Event champ!

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana in the Louisville area to live report the $1,700 Main Event; however, that is just one of more than a dozen gold ring events that have taken place over the past week. As such, we thought we’d profile some of the preliminary tournaments and those who struck it big.

In Event #1: $400 No-Limit Hold’em, 192 runners created a $63,360 prize pool that was paid out to the top 29 players including Mark Beard (13th - $890), Kevin Davis (20th = $682), and Mark “Pegasus” Smith (27th - $582), just to name a few.

In the end, 30-year-old William Watson of Lexington, Kentucky bested John Hatfield in heads-up play to win the title and $15,776 first-place prize. It also marked his third career gold ring.

The win gave him the early lead in the race for Casino Champion, which he planned to pursue.

“I am going to play everything,” Watson explained, “I am a normal Circuit grinder.”

McBrayer Chops a Big One

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Kim Schinco checked a {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop from the small blind, and WSOPC ring winner BJ McBrayer bet 1,200 into a pot of 1,600 from the big blind. The cutoff called, and Schinco check-raised to 3,000. McBrayer called and the cutoff folded.

Schinco bet 5,000 on the {10-Clubs} turn, and McBrayer called again.

On the {10-Spades} river, Schinco bet 7,000 and McBrayer called. Schinco turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, and McBrayer turned up his {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and the duo chopped the pot.

Alan Cutler in Day 1a action

Alan Cutler checked a {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop from the small blind, and a middle position player checked as well. The cutoff bet 500 into a pot of 1,000, and Cutler and the middle position player both called.

All three players checked the {a-Diamonds} turn, and the {k-Diamonds} hit the river. Cutler bet 2,000, and both of his opponents folded. Cutler turned over his {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and said, "Two for two; two-thousand for two pair!"
