The two starting flights are in the books at the WSOP U.S. Circuit's first stop at Choctaw Casino Resort as time has arrived for the two fields to combine under one roof. The $1,700 Main Event tallied a total of 976 entries and 167 return today with their sights set on the final table.

Before that happens, the top 147 players will make it into the money. Thomas Johnson enters the day as the chip leader after bagging a stack of 543,000 on Day 1b. He and Billy Bailey (516,000) are the only two players to take a stack of over a half-million into Day 2.

That does not mean there are not plenty of formidable contenders still left in the field, Rodolfo Meraz (496,500), Russ Floyd (481,000), Scott Hall (479,000), Sayed "PJ" Jafari (478,000) and Trung Tran (468,500) will make their way up the mountain hoping to make it to the final nine.

Other notable players entering Day 2 include Daniel Lowery (460,000), Craig Varnell (450,000), Vincent Moscati (190,500), Brian Green (164,500), Aaron Massey (142,000), Jean "Prince" Gaspard (136,00), TJ Cloutier (135,500), Nick Pupillo (102,500), Chris Tyrba (101,000), Allen Kessler (95,000) and defending champion Dave Alfa (38,500).

Play is scheduled to play through 12 levels with blinds resuming at 2,500/5,000/5,000. Each level is 60-minutes with 15-minute breaks every two hours.

Cards will be in the air noon local time as the field comes back with their eyes set on the first-place prize of $255,535. Those who do make it into the money will lock up a first-level payout of $2,547.

Stay tuned to PokerNews as the day unfolds.
