Gieles Out, Chen In

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Luuk Gieles had less than a big blind left when he saw Marciano Yvel raise it up to 2,200 from early position. Raoul Refos called from the hijack and Gieles moved all in from the cutoff. Small blind Albert Hoekendijk called, as did big blind Marijn van Puffelen.

The flop was {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and it checked all the way to Refos, who bet 4,000. Hoekendijk snap-called and the other players folded.

Refos and Hoekendijk checked on the {2-Diamonds} turn. Hoekendijk took the betting lead on the {K-Hearts} river when he fired out a bet of 6,000. Refos called the bet and the cards went on their backs.

Hoekendijk showed {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} and that turned out to be the best hand. Gieles had to show {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Refos {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Gieles said goodbye to the table with the words "I might see you guys tomorrow", implying that he might reenter at the start of Day 2.

Zhong Chen took the option to enter the tournament again as he sat down on the table where Gieles just left.
