Hinkle vs. Small

Level 26 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

With the action folding to Brendan Waite on the button he put in a raise to 40,000. Sean Small and Blair Hinkle both made the call from the blinds. The flop came {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Waite checked and Small put in a bet of 65,000. With Hinkle calling and Waite folding, the turn brought the {j-Diamonds}. Small fired out 87,000 and again Hinkle called. A {3-Hearts} peeled off on the river and Small fired out, this time for 157,000, and again Hinkle made the call and the cards were turned up:

Hinkle: {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Small: {q-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Hinkle took down this pot of 452,000 making him the chip leader.

Cowboy Wakes Up with Tens at Just the Right Time

Level 26 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Sterling Savill opened for 41,000 from middle position and received a call from Brendan Waite in the hijack. Action folded to "Cowboy" Ben Smith in the big blind and he announced that he was all in for 285,000. Savill responded by moving all in over the top, and that drove Waite from the hand.

Savill: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Smith: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Savill could only shake his head upon discovering that he was dominated. The board ran out a clean {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Smith more than doubled in the hand.

"Bonsai" Mark Bonsack

Level 26 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
"Bonsai" Mark Bonsack
"Bonsai" Mark Bonsack

Every once in awhile we'll see a player wear an interesting getup to a final table, and two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Mark Bonsack is that player here today.

Bonsack has come sporting camouflage pants and long-sleeve and some sort of samurai headwear. He reminds one of a ninja/huntsman hybrid whose only weapon is a poker chip. Formidable no?

Tim Hughes Eliminated in 9th Place ($11,457)

Level 26 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Tim Hughes - 9th Place
Tim Hughes - 9th Place

Tim Hughes opened for 40,000 under the gun and Blair Hinkle called from the hijack. The rest of the players folded and it was heads up to the flop, which fell {8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Hughes bet 40,000, Hinkle called, and the {J-Spades} turned. This time Hughes checked and Blair bet 85,000. Hughes woke up with a check-raise to 185,000, Hinkle called, and the {Q-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Hughes returned to checking and Hinkle took the opportunity to bet 210,000. Hughes quickly check-raised all in for 468,000 and Hinkle seemed shocked. "Jesus," he said. "I guess I have to call." He did just that and was glad he did as his {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} straight easily downed Hughes {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Hughes, a 48-year-old business owner from Fort Pierre, South Dakota, was eliminated in ninth place for $11,457.

Raising War: Bonsack Vs. Small

Level 26 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded around to Sean Small on the button who raised to 40,000 and Mark Bonsack made the call from the big blind. With a flop of {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, Bonsack check-raised Small's continuation bet of 43,000 to 97,000. After a little bit of a pause, Small decided to raise back and made it 168,000. When Bonsack quickly shoved all in for around 160,000 more, Small tossed his hand in the muck.

Phil Mader Eliminated in 10th Place ($9,275)

Level 26 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Phil Mader - 10th
Phil Mader - 10th

It didn't take long for the first elimination of the day, less than a half an hour in fact. It happened on a {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop when Phil Mader checked from the big blind and Sean Small bet 102,000. Mader moved all in for right around 300,000 and Small couldn't call fast enough.

Mader: {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Small: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

Small was ahead with pocket kings, but Mader was drawing very much alive to an open-ended straight draw. The {J-Diamonds} turn gave him even more outs, but the {3-Clubs} river was not one of them. Mader exited in tenth place for $9,275 and the official final table was set.

Hughes Shoves

Level 26 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Blair Hinkle opened for 40,000 from middle position only to have Mark Bonsack three-bet to 95,000 from the hijack. Action then folded to Tim Hughes in the big blind and he four-bet all in for 595,000. Hinkle quickly got out of the way, and after thinking about it for a minute, Bonsack did the same.
