Razavi Reduces The Field by One

Ashkan Razavi won his first World Series of Poker bracelet earlier this year when he bested a massive field and defeated circuit regular Amanda Musumeci heads up in Event 9: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry. Razavi is in the field today and is thriving.

We found action fold around to the cutoff and he raised to 650. The button and small blind tagged along and Razavi joined the party from the big blind.

All four players looked down to see a flop of {Ts]{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The small blind tapped the table and Razavi led out for 1,400. The original raiser in the cutoff folded and player on the button called. The small blind got out of the way and the two were heads up to the turn.

Fourth street brought the {J-Diamonds} and Razavi did not let up. He moved 2,825 into the middle and his opponent on the button moved all in for roughly 8,000 total. Razavi wasted no time calling and showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for two pair.

Razavi's opponent shook his head and showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for a hand that was winning on the flop but was currently behind. The {2-Diamonds} hit the river and allowed Razavi to scoop up the pot and increase his stack to about 48,000.
