Kirk Trending Down

Tripp Kirk mulling over a decision
Tripp Kirk mulling over a decision

Hand 1: Tripp Kirk opened to 300,000 on the button, Ryan Riess defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Riess checked, Kirk continued for 250,000, and Riess called.

Both players checked on the turn ({5-Diamonds}), and the river ({5-Spades}).

"Nothing," Riess announced.

Kirk tabled {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a pair of deuces and won the pot.

"I was calling river," Kirk said, smiling.

Hand 2: Ryan Riess was on the button and raised to 285,000. Tripp Kirk three-bet to 635,000 from the small blind, and Riess responded with a four-bet to 1.2 million. Kirk called.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, and Kirk checked. Riess slid forward 1.5 million, and Kirk immediately folded.

Hand 3: Tripp Kirk opened to 300,000 on the button, Josh Williams called, and the flop came down {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Williams led for 260,000, and Kirk called.

Both players checked after the {k-Spades} turned, and the river was the {6-Spades}. Williams led again - this time for 555,000 - and Kirk tank-called. Williams tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and won the pot.
