Making Points
"Sorry for that cooler I put on you."
So said Aaron Massey just now as he arrived to his seat at Table 26. The comment was directed toward Jared Jaffe seated a few seats to his left, and was in reference to a hand from Event #7, the $1,000+$125 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament that ended late last night.
"Ah, it happens," shrugged Jaffe, one of several the Chicagoan had knocked out during his deep run. "At least you used the chips, right?" "Almost!" grinned Massey, and Jaffe nodded at Massey's point.
Indeed, Massey made it all of the way to a second-place finish last night, finishing runner-up to James Gilbert of nearby Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Here are the results from that $1K event that drew 196 entrants:

Massey also picked up points with his finish, pushing into a tie for third at the moment. In addition to other qualifiers, players who earn enough points on the National Leaderboard will be able to buy-in to the National Championship in May 2013.
