MacKinnon Scores Big Double Through Nguyen

Brian Nguyen limped in from under the gun, and when the action folded around to Douglas MacKinnon in the small blind he raised to 65,000. It folded back to Nguyen who reraised all in, and MacKinnon called all in for 499,000 total — just a touch less than Nguyen's stack.

Nguyen flipped over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, but MacKinnon had {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. The flop came {5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and MacKinnon still led, but the turn brought the {Q-Spades} and gave the lead to Nguyen. Then came the river… the {K-Hearts}!

MacKinnon survived the hand, doubling to more than a million, while Nguyen fell back to just 9,000 chips. Nguyen managed a small double-up on the next hand (through MacKinnon), but remains on the super-short stack.
