Vornicu Loses to Liebert

Valentin Vornicu won the 6-max event earlier this week for just under $11,000, and he's back at it today in the Main Event. Vornicu had more then doubled his stack when we saw him get in a tussle with Kathy Liebert.

We caught the action on the flop, which read {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Liebert had bet out 600, and Vornicu raised to 1,500. Liebert called, and also called a bet of 2,500 when the {j-Spades} hit the turn. The dealer put the {q-Clubs} on the river, and that slowed down Vornicu, who checked. Liebert sprung into action with a bet of 3,200, and that sent Vornicu into the tank.

"I had the best hand on the flop," said Vornicu. Liebert quickly shot back, saying "No you didn't". Vornicu eventually laid it down, and Liebert flashed the {10-Diamonds}, then the {7-Diamonds}, for flopped two pair.

Vornicu is down to 37,000 after that hand, while Liebert is back up to 21,000.
