Gregory Burns Eliminated in 18th Place ($8,829)

Burns was crippled on the first hand of the day, but managed to double up on the first hand after the redraw, when his {q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} caught up with the {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} of Joseph McKeehen. However, he went out on the next hand.

Burns open shoved for his last 150,000, and action folded around to Hend Matthews in the big blind. She looked down at her cards, then grimaced a bit, but held on to her hand. She clearly had a close decision, and said "If I didn't see you shove with Queen deuce just now I probably wouldn't call". She stacked the calling chips together, and slid them in.

Matthews: {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Burns: {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Burns was once again dominated, but this time, he didn't get so lucky. The board ran down {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and Matthews collected the bounty, upping her stack to 810,000. Meanwhile, Burns will have to settle for a payday just short of $9,000.
