Spires Doubles Through Le

Action started with Tong Le, who raised to 135,000 in the cutoff. Leroy Spires was next to ace on the button, and he pushed all in for 710,000 on top. Action folded back around to Le, and once he eyeballed the stack, he made the call. The cards were tabled, and we were off to the races.

Le: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Spires:{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

The flop was a rough one for Le, as it came {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, giving Spires a set but keeping Le alive with an inside straight draw. The turn came the {9-Clubs}, adding to Lee's straight outs. Spires dodged those outs on the river, as it came the {6-Clubs}. Spires jumped back up to 1.6 million, while Le tumbles down to 1.3 million, the shortest stack in the tournament.
