Bowker Flops the Joint

Kyle Bowker

We picked up the action on the flop in a heads-up pot between Day 1 big stack Maxim Sorkin (under the gun) and Kyle Bowker (button).

When we walked up to the table, the {Q-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {5-Hearts} flop was already spread out on the table. Kyle Bowker had 4,700 chips out in front of him, but we can't say for sure if it was a bet or a raise. Either way, Sorokin responded with a raise back to 15,000 flat, and Bowker tanked and called to see the next card.

It was the {6-Diamonds}, and Sorokin quickly plunked out a covering stack of red chips. Bowker threw his arms up in confusion, but he had little choice with {8-Hearts} {10-Hearts}. He quickly committed his last 50,700 to the pot, and he was soon presented with a bit of good news as Sorokin's {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} was drawing dead.

The river {A-Hearts} was just a formality, and Bowker has found a big double to climb up to about 140,000.
