Engel Takes Early Hit

Not too long after sitting down, Ari Engel, who made the final table of this event last year, was staring at a board reading {7-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} . An early position player pushed out a bet and a player in middle position called. Engel also made the call and the three players went to the river with over 5,000 in the pot.

The river brought the {2-Clubs} and the early position player tossed out 3,500. The middle position player quickly mucked and Engel sat debating. He peeked at his cards and played with his chips for moment. He took a glance down at his cards one more time before tossing them toward the muck.
