Seat 7: Curt Kohlberg (863,000)

Curt Kohlberg
Curt Kohlberg

It seems like everywhere you look these days, Curt Kohlberg is cashing in a big-ticket tournament. His poker career has been earning him money since 1997, but his real splash came in 2003 when he took down a $5,000 tournament at the Festa al Lago in Las Vegas. He final tabled a WSOP event in 2008, and he was a small casher in this year's Main Event as well. In total, he has more than $1.3 million in earnings since 2003.

At age 52, Kohlberg is the senior member of this final table. When he's not cashing at the poker table, Kohlberg is the president of a consulting firm, and he spends as much time as he can with his wife and three children. And get this, he's a nationally-ranked squash player in the fairweather seasons as well. And when the snow comes, Kohlberg laces up his boots and goes... to the helipad for a little helicopter skiing. True story. He is a graduate of UMass and M.I.T., and he still makes his home in the Boston area.

Kohlberg has been near the top of the chip counts for two days now, and he begins this final day in third place with 863,000 chips. You may not know his name yet, but he might well prove to be the dark horse today at this talented and youthful table.
