Patgorski's No-Show, Perper Out in 12th, Adams Wakes Up, Paredes Out 11th and The Final Redraw

David Paredes - 11th Place
David Paredes - 11th Place

No Show Needed - 5:21 PM

Gabe Patgorski was first into the pot from the cutoff seat, and he limped in. Small blind Curt Kohlberg completed, and Bernard Lee knocked the table for a free flop from the big blind.

The three men took a flop of {8-Hearts} {8-Spades} {5-Clubs}, and the action checked around the table to the {K-Hearts} turn. Kohlberg checked again, and Lee took a 21,000-chip stab at the pot. Patgorski called, Kohlberg folded, and the {7-Clubs} landed on the river. Lee fired another 28,000 chips at the pot, and Patgorski didn't waste much time calling.

Lee snap-mucked, though, and Patgorski returned his cards to the dealer face-down. At most tournaments, the winning hand must be shown in the 'show two cards to win the pot' rule. That rule does not exist here in Indiana, however, and the floor explained to Lee that neither he nor anyone at the table could ask to see the winning hand.

Patgorski takes it down with no showdown.

Lee Forced Out - 5:26 PM

From the cutoff, Curt Kohlberg raised to 30,000, and Bernard Lee three-bet to 78,000 in position. When the blinds folded Kohlberg promptly four-bet to 163,000 total, drawing a pause from Lee. He had 445,000 chips left, and he eventually decided a fold was his best course of action, returning his cards to the dealer face-down.

Paredes C-Bets to Victory - 5:32 PM

In a battle of the blinds, David Paredes raised to 35,000 from the small, and Curt Kohlberg called to see a flop. It came {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {6-Hearts}, and a 50,000-chip continuation bet was enough to win the pot without incident.

Easy game.

Dan Perper Eliminated in 12th Place ($39,346) - 5:46 PM

Curt Kohlberg raised from the cutoff seat to 36,000 and then called Dan Perper's shove from the big blind for 142,000. Perper held the {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Kohlberg the {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Kohlberg improved to a pair of nines and all but shut the door on Perper.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} and the river the {3-Diamonds}. Kohlberg's pair of nines won the pot and he sent Perper out the door in 12th place. He took home nearly $40,000 for his finish. Kohlberg improved to 760,000 in chips.

Adams Wakes Up - 5:47

A series of three consecutive hands involving Brandon Adams:

1: Under the gun, David Sands raised to 28,000, and Adams moved all in for 118,000 next door. Sands asked for the count, then folded out of the way. "If I'd get a T-shirt, I'd have called," Sands said about the potential to knock out the Full Tilt Red Pro. It sounded like Adams said he had aces, and Sands confessed to his king-jack suited.

2: Adams was under the gun on the next hand, and he opened to 27,000, folding the rest of the table and earning him a round of blinds and antes. "Woke him up," Sands said. "My bad, guys."

3: From the big blind now, Adams called a raise to 30,000 from Mark Owens, and the two short stacks checked through the {10-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {10-Spades} flop. On the {2-Spades} turn, Adams took the betting lead with 45,000 chips, and Owens gave it a good look before folding.

From 118,000 to 242,000 goes Brandon Adams over the course of those three hands, doubling up without ever seeing a river card.

"You got me," Sands said a few minutes later.

"How did I get you?" Adams asked.

"By getting me," came the logical reply. "You got my 28,000 chips," Sands explained. Adams smirked as he finished stacking up.

Shorr-ing Up His Stack - 5:55 PM

Shannon Shorr raised to 28,000 from the cutoff seat, and David Sands three-bet to 77,000 from the button. Shorr called, and he checked the {2-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} flop. Sands continued out with a bet of 84,000, and Shorr made the call.

The action check-checked through the {10-Hearts} turn and {5-Spades} river, and Shorr showed up his {7-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}, good enough to take down the pot. He's up to 950,000 again, while Sands slips to about 650,000.

The Pace of Play - 6:05 PM

Things have slowed right down with 11 players left, and the action is being driven by just two or three players. Dave Sands, Shannon Shorr, and David Paredes are really the only guys splashing around right now as everyone else sits relatively tight and waits for cards.

Short stacks Brandon Adams and Mark Owens are very interested in the action at the other table, and they frequently stand up to glance across, hoping they'll see someone shorter on chips than they. Apart from that, the two of them are basically looking for spots to three-bet shove, and so far those have all gotten through uncontested.

Paredes Calls with Jacks - 6:08 PM

David Paredes raised to 27,000 and Steve Zolotow made the call from the big blind. Paredes had raised from the cutoff seat. The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {3-Diamonds} on the turn. Zolotow fired 37,000 and Paredes called.

The river completed the board with the {9-Hearts} and Zolotow bet 57,000. Paredes called and won the pot with the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Zolotow mucked and dropped to 275,000. Paredes improved to 570,000.

David Paredes Eliminated in 11th Place ($39,346) - 6:15 PM

Gabe Patgorski raised to 28,000 from the cutoff seat, and he found calls from David Paredes (button), Curt Kohlberg (small blind), and Bernard Lee (big blind). The four men went off to a flop of {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}, and the blinds checked. Patgorski continued out with a bet of 57,000. Paredes was the only caller this time, and it was heads up to the turn.

It brought the {10-Clubs} and another bet from Patgorski, 155,000 this time. Paredes made the call once again, and the raggy {4-Spades} filled out the board. Not slowing down now, Patgorski announced a covering all in, sliding out a tall stack of his blue T25,000 chips. Paredes took just about 15 seconds to think it over before quietly announcing a call, committing his final ~430,000 to the pot. It'd be the last time he'd get to touch those chips.

Patgorski tabled {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}, and Paredes let out a big sigh of disgust as he open-mucked his second-best {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}. With that, we've lost David Paredes in 11th place, good for almost $40,000.

His exit has cued the final redraw of the tournament. Ten players are left, but there's only room for nine at the final table. We'll play on for one more knockout before bagging and tagging for the night.
