Goodbye Gu - 10:27 PM

From under the gun, Dave "Doc" Sands raised to 7,400. Frank Gu was on the button and reraised to 20,000. James Anderson reraised to 50,000. Sands folded and Gu moved all in. Anderson called and tabled the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. He was up against the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for Gu.

The flop came down {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Anderson picked up a flush draw. The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and gave him a gutterball as well. The river landed with the {5-Diamonds} and that was one of the cards Anderson could use. He eliminated Gu and moved to 310,000 in chips.

Another One Bites the Dust - 10:35 PM

Tony Bolahood was down to just 11,300 when he moved it in from under the gun. The table folded all the way back around to Keven Stammen, and he wasn't even going to bother looking. He called, and everyone got to see his {10-Diamonds} {8-Spades} together as Balahood tabled the slightly-better {J-Clubs} {3-Spades}.

It wasn't better for long. The flop brought a pair for Stammen, and the {8-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {7-Spades} board was all she wrote for the short stack. Balahood is out in 32nd place, and Stammen finds a few extra chips to play with.

Carroll Hears the Bell - 10:37 PM

Down to just over 30,000, James Carroll open-shoved with {10-Clubs} {8-Clubs}. Next door, Kevin Dooley woke up with ace-jack and made the call, and Carroll was going to need some help to stick around. He would not find any from the dealer though, and a board full of blanks meant Dooley's ace-high was good enough for the knockout.

Just 30 players remain.

Axtman Chopped by Lee - 10:39 PM

On the flop of {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}, Bruce Axtman checked to Chris Klodnicki. Klodnicki bet 12,700 and then Bernard Lee was next up. He took his time before firing in a raise to 32,300. Axtman thought for only a tiny bit of time before moving all in for approximately 65,000. Klodnicki folded and then Lee made the call.

Axtman turned up the {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair and a straight draw. He was behind the set of jacks that Lee held with the {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, but did have outs with two cards to come.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and that card didn't help Axtman. The river completed the board with the {8-Diamonds} and Lee won the hand. Axtman was eliminated while Lee stacked up to 252,000 in chips.

Julius Doubles Down by the Shorr - 10:56 PM

From under the gun, Justin Smith raised to 7,700. Ryan Julius was in the next seat and reraised to 72,400 and was all in. Shannon Shorr called and then Smith folded.

Shorr: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Julius: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Julius flopped and ace on the board of {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and doubled up to about 160,000. Shorr was knocked down to 195,000.

Tamayo Eliminated - 11:00 PM

Curt Kohlberg opened with a raise from the hijack seat, and Jonathan Tamayo three-bet to 21,500 from the small blind. It was nearly half his stack, and Kohlberg set him all in for about 50,000 total. Tamayo called with the {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}, and he would soon see that the news was not good. Kohlberg turned up his dominating {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}, and the {8-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts} board did nothing to save Tamayo from extinction.

He's out, and Kohlberg has clawed his way up to 365,000.

Kohlberg Shoves on Adams - 11:07 PM

Curt Kohlberg raised to 8,000 from the button and Brandon Adams reraised to 28,000 from the big blind. Kohlberg called and the flop came down {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Adams bet 37,000, but then folded to an all-in shove from Kohlberg to drop to 130,000. Kohlberg has been doing quite well for himself and it up to 495,000.

Baker Rises and Falls - 11:14 PM

In early position, David Baker opened to 8,000, and Dave Orvis thee-bet all in for 21,300. Baker quickly called, and his {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} had his opponent's {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades} drawing slim for his survival.

There was no help from the dealer, either, as the board ran out {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs} to send him to the exit. Baker chipped up to about 450,000 thanks to that, but the chips would not stay with him for long.

On the next hand, Baker once again opened the pot, this time under the gun. Keven Stammen three-bet him, and Bakes went ahead and four-bet enough to put Stammen to the test. The call came, Stammen all in for 90,200 and flipping for his tournament life. He held {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}, and “Bakes” was racing for the knockout with {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}. Stammen's jacks ran faster, though, as the board came {2-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {10-Hearts}.

Put Stammen at about 185,000 now, while Baker takes a slide back to 360,000.

Levy Can't Close Out Schwartz - 11:29 PM

First in from the hijack seat, Adam Levy raised it up to 7,800. In the small blind, Jeremy Schwartz moved all in for 48,100, and Levy quickly called, turning up {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}.

"Shit," Schwartz couldn't help himself. He sheepishly tabled {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}, all in and in trouble.

Levy flopped his king, but Schwartz hit it harder. The first three cards off the deck were {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}, and everyone at the table reacted to the come-from-behind trips. Levy needed one of the two-out kings, but the turn and river were {5-Spades} and {5-Clubs} to keep Schwartz safe. He's doubled up to 100,000 now, knocking Levy down around 250,000.
