Sickness!
Five players took a flop for 4,500 in this hand, and it would turn out to be a good one. The dealer spread out a flop. When the action checked to Matt Waxman, he slid out 13,500, and Lawrence Jacobs bumped it up to 40,000 total. Waxman made the call, and the two went heads up to the turn. Waxman knocked the table, and Jacobs instantly announced an all in. Waxman's call came even quicker than the shove, and he was at risk as the cards were tabled.
Showdown
Waxman:
Jacobs:
Jacobs won a big pot with a set of threes yesterday, but he'd need some help to win this one. Waxman turned the nuts, and Jacobs needed to pair the board to stay alive. Waxman had one blocker, too, as the would make him a straight flush.
River: !
Waxman quietly announced, "Straight flush," as soon as the river card peeled off, just like he knew it was coming. Jacobs paired the board, but it was the wrong pair, and he's been knocked down around 70,000 after that pot.
Waxman is now on the charge with 264,000 chips stacked in front of him.
