Hearts A'Plenty

Level 17 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

In early position, Eugene Katchalov raised to 7,000, and he found calls from Dan Kelly (hijack) and Chris Klodnicki (cutoff). The three of them took a {K-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} flop, and Katchalov continued out with a bet of 15,500. Kelly folded without incident, but Chris Klodnicki raised to 37,500 with position. Katchalov called.

Heads up now, the {J-Spades} hit fourth street, and Katchalov check-called another 47,000 chips. That led them to the {A-Diamonds} river, and there was no slowing down now. Klodnicki fired 94,000 at the pot, and Katchalov check-called once again.

In a statistical anomaly, both men had flopped their flushes, but Klodnicki's {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} was the stone-cold nuts. Katchalov flashed his {5-Hearts} {7-Hearts} before they hit the muck, and his chip stack has taken a hit of its own. He's down to 168,000 after that exchange, while Klodnicki climbs to 448,000 and into second place.
