Wexler Gets Bodog'd
We caught up to the action a bit late, but we're trying to catch every bit we can when Jonas Wexler and Ari Engel are playing hands.
On the turn, the board showed , and there was just over 12,000 in the pot. Wexler took his cue to bet 6,600 at the pot, and Engel tanked and called. The filled out the board, and Wexler slowed back down with a check. Engel took a few minutes to debate a bet before checking it back, much to the chagrin of Wexler.
"Augh!" he let out a cry. "You got it." Engel forced him to show his airball before tabling the winning , his ace-high good enough for the pot.
"Were you check-raising the river?" someone at the table asked.
"Ab-so-luuutely," Wexler answered.
"I believe you," Engel said, the two men trading smiles. "That's not a stretch at all."
In the eight seat, some poor amateur was lamenting his plight. "Of course I draw this table. Of course."
