On a board reading and about 5,600 in the pot, Kevin Manley checked from the hijack and allowed Kyle Cartwright to bet 3,050 from the button. Manley looked frustrated as he showed the and promptly mucked.

From middle position, Robert Scott limped in. Action folded to Casey Hayes in the small blind and he completed the bet before Seneca Easley checked in the big blind. The flop came down and action checked around. The turn added the to the board and paired it up with another hockey stick. Hayes bet 150, Easley raised to 450, Scott flatted and Hayes folded.
After the completed the board on the river, Easley led with a bet of 675. Scott put in a raise to 1,800 and Easley called, showing the for trip sevens. Scott held better with pocket aces for a full house and won the pot.
Three players; Mun Nguyen, Shannon Shorr and Charles Moore all contested the flop of with roughly 900 in the middle preflop.
Nguyen pushed out a continuation-bet of 500 with Shorr making the call before Moore check-raised to 3,000. Nguyen quickly called as Shorr mucked before the dealer delivered the on the turn.
Moore continued his aggression with a 6,000-chip bet only to have Nguyen quickly push out 15,000. Moore didn't hesitate in calling as the completed the board.
Moore splashed in his final 1,275 and Nguyen made the call for his tournament life showing his . Unfortunately for the WSOP Circuit Atlantic City Pot Limit Omaha Champion, it would be Moore's that would see him pushed the pot to claim the title of early chip leader with roughly 43,000 and change.
Blair Hinkle entered the pot for 325 with his opponent in the big blind making the call.
Hinkle fired out a continuation-bet of 400 on the flop with his opponent check-calling before the and was checked through.
Hinkle tabled his to move to 19,400 as his opponent mucked.
Bernard Lee entered the pot from the hi-jack with a raise to 275 as Doug Carli defended his big blind to see a flop.
Carli checked and Lee tossed in a 425-chip bet to force an insta-fold from Carli. Lee flashed his and happily collected the pot.
Allen Kessler limped in from middle position only to have Shannon Shorr make it 350 from the cutoff.
From the small blind, Peter Mavro didn't look to kindly upon his blinds being picked on and consequently three-bet to 1,025.
Kessler passed, as did Shorr to see Mavro quickly scoop the pot.
While the majority of players have taken their seats, a few are missing in action. Among those not yet here are John Holley, Brett Richey, Chris Klodnicki, David "Doc" Sands, Jason Burt, and Dennis Summers. The good news is they have through Level 5 to take their seats. In addition, we've been informed that Gary Friedlander will not be playing the National Championship as he is out of the country.
WSOP Circuit Chester winner Kenny Nguyen entered the pot from under the gun with a raise to 300. The action folded to Chris Bell on the button and he made the call as the blinds kicked the cards to the muck.
Nguyen continued for 400 on the with Bell making the call as the rolled off on the turn.
Pausing for a few moments, Nguyen announced a bet of 750 as he dropped an assortment of chips into the pot. With Bell now taking his time to deliberate, he eventually opted to bump it up to 2,150.
Taking nearly two minutes to contemplate his decision, Nguyen eventually folded as Bell scooped one of the first pots of the day.
